Vinyasa Flow Yoga is a creative and evolving form of yoga that will take you through a whole body experience with the breath as your guide. The combination of flowing sequences and held postures naturally generates heat in the body. Vinyasa Flow builds strength, endurance, flexibility and a strong focus. Students of all levels, from beginners to those more experienced are empowered to explore and discover what their bodies are capable of in a safe, non-competitive, relaxed environment.
Pre-natal yoga will show you how to safely build strength and flexibility during your pregnancy. The sessions will also cover breathing and relaxation exercises, practices to help you connect with your baby, restorative poses to help with fatigue and some useful breath and movement techniques to help during labour.
Hatha Yoga will safely lead you through a range of asanas (postures) with the focus on healthy alignment and on connecting mind, body and breath . Each asana is typically held for longer to give the student the opportunity to fully experience the energy of the pose. In this way the student will build strength and flexibility in a way that will balance, awaken and realign the whole body.
Core Strength Vinyasa is a creative, flow based style of yoga with a massive injection of anatomy and biomechanics. CSV is a transitional style, where core principles are used to help students acess and understand there core. Which improves alignment and stability as well as connecting mind and body. Expect to feel strong from the inside out. Be empowered. Stand in your truth and shine!
Beginners Hatha is a slow and gentle yoga class that combines traditional hatha yoga asanas with long, deeply relaxing restorative yoga postures. The class includes dynamic poses to actively stretch and release tension from the body but is complemented by long relaxation periods where the student is fully supported in restorative poses. The combination of active and restorative postures alleviates tension and stress and helps to create a feeling of calm and wellbeing.
Yin Yoga is a very simple practice. All postures are done on the floor. We settle into an asana (posture) for 3-7 minutes and slowly relax our muscles to allow the deeper drier tissues–the connective tissues that wrap our muscles and make up our joint capsules–to be safely and therapeutically stretched, stimulated and strengthened. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Yin Yoga is a great compliment to a more Yang style of practice or physical activity. Yin Yoga is suitable for all.
Kids Yoga (5-10) is centred around how children learn, grow and develop. In our kids yoga classes we incorporate yoga into games, activities, adventures and stories, allowing your child to engage with yoga on a level that they relate to. Each class also includes a community circle time at the beginning and a relaxation period at the end.
Each week in our yoga story we will explore a topic to help encourage healthy mental and emotional development. Some examples include: Looking after your friends; being brave; knowing why you’re sad; and sharing.
The classes improve coordination, teamwork, body awareness, concentration and focus, communication skills and creativity.
Teen Yoga (11-16) is specially designed to meet the needs of your teen or pre-teen, physically, emotionally and mentally. Each class includes a physical posture-based practice, breathing exercises, circle activities, stress-relieving techniques and meditation. The classes offer a weekly escape from the drama and business of school life.
Your teen can expect to work on:
- Strengthening, flexibility and balanced based exercises
- Self-awareness and understanding their emotions
- Stress-management techniques and breathing exercises
- Developing healthy communication
Each class has a focus on building team-working skills, self-esteem and confidence. In these non-competitive sessions each child is valued for who they are and their own unique skills, talents and personality.
Dynamic Hatha Yoga is designed for those that enjoy an energising class with a focus on to uniting the breath, body and mind. Each class will include sequences of Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Meditation and Relaxation.
This practice is suitable for all abilities, with modifications provided for students that are newer to yoga and progressions offered for the more seasoned practitioner. Each class will focus on the integration of the breath with the mind and body allowing us to tune in to our inner intuition and develop a state of moving-meditation.
You can expect to work through strengthening poses, improve posture, develop a sense of inner calm and discover a new-found resilience to the stresses of everyday life.
